Michael James Scott discusses his upcoming appearance at the Her Universe Fashion Show. Ashley Eckstein and Michael James Scott will host the Her Universe Fashion Show 2023 at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20th.

The 9th annual Her Universe Fashion Show is free for San Diego Comic-Con attendees, and all ages are welcome. The event will celebrate 100 Years of Disney and feature a geek couture fashion competition.

Interview with Michael James Scott

Michael James Scott has had a successful career on Broadway as well as in other realms of the entertainment industry. Best known as Genie in Disney’s Aladdin Musical, Scott’s Broadway credits also include Mamma Mia, Tarzan, All Shook Up, The Pirate Queen, Elf, and Hair. 

“We are celebrating 100 years of Disney amazingness, right? So we’re talking Broadway, we’re talking Star Wars, we’re talking Pixar, we’re talking Marvel. I mean, that these are this is major, right? So I’m excited for each of those amazing entities to be able to have their moments. But in the Her Universe way, which I’m really, really excited about. It’s also it’s an honor to be able to just get to be a part of such an amazing legacy that is Disney right? But to be able to do that on this level with epic surprises and all the things that are coming your way” – Michael James Scott

The Her Universe Fashion Show 2023

The Her Universe Fashion Show will be held on Thursday, July 20, at 6 p.m. PT in the Harbor Ballroom of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. Check-in begins at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 20th, with doors open at 4:15 PM. In past years, fans have lined up for hours before the show to try and get a good seat. By the time last year’s event started, there was only standing room left. I definitely recommend showing up for check-in at 11 am. And be sure to get in line early for a good seat.

Audience members help choose one of the winners, as well as an expert panel of judges. It’s easy to be blown away by these one-of-a-kind designs. Each year we are consistently blown away by the contestants and their passion for their fandoms. I do not envy the tough decisions the judges will have to make.

Hot Topic will transform the lobby into a whimsical fan experience in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Fans will have the opportunity to embark on a winding path through the Cemetery, take photos, spin Oogie Boogie’s prize wheel, and more.
