Netflix’s Arcane Season 2 Act 2 Review

In their review of “Arcane” season 2, act 2 (episodes 4-6) podcast hosts Kari and Nick of the Temple of Geek warn listeners about the emotional rollercoaster they’re in for. Spoilers ahead!

Initially, in the first Act (episodes 1-3 of the second season) Jinx’s attack on the Council throws Piltover and Zaun into chaos. New leaders rise, alliances shift, and the conflict escalates to a dangerous new level.

From Riot Games, Arcane returns this November on Netflix. Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, the animated series, based on the League of Legends game, is one of Netflix’s most successful animated series ever. Linke, Marc Merrill, and Brandon Beck serve as executive producers, with animation by Fortiche Production. The talented voice cast includes Hailee Steinfeld (Vi), Ella Purnell (Jinx), Katie Leung (Caitlyn), Kevin Alejandro (Jayce), Harry Lloyd (Viktor), Toks Olagundoye (Mel), Reed Shannon (Ekko), Amirah Vann (Sevika), Mick Wingert (Heimerdinger), Ellen Thomas (Ambessa), and Brett Tucker (Singed). Fortiche Production, under the direction of founders Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord, directed and produced the animation.

Netflix’s Arcane Season 2 Act 2 Review

Describing the episodes as inflicting “emotional damage and trauma,” they commend the writers for successfully eliciting tears from the audience. Furthermore, the hosts highlight the shocking revelation of Vander’s survival and discuss Jinx’s character growth as she begins to embrace a more heroic role. Additionally, they delve into the complex relationship between Jinx and Vi, noting their struggle to rebuild trust. The review also touches on introducing new characters like Mel and the Black Rose and explores the mysteries of Arcane lore and its potential impact on the show’s future. Finally, Kari and Nick express their excitement for Act 3 and the fate of the beloved characters. Overall, they give a positive review, praising the depth of the storytelling. Especially the complexity of the characters and the unique art style. And lets the show’s intriguing approach to revealing information.

Arcane Season Two, Act II premieres November 16th. Followed by the final act and the epic conclusion to the story on November 23.
