What we’re playing

Amanda- I’m still on that Pokemon thing. I’ve been maintaining 30km per week for nearly two months now. There was just an electric event and I’m enjoying the variety. There’s a rain pokemon event going on today, so I’ll go out later to catch some bad boys. There’s nothing good on Xbox and I’ve not turned it on in over a month.

Stacy- Back on the Hearthstone bandwagon!

Gaming news

UK lockdown saw the gaming industry hit £7bn – this doesn’t surprise me at all as nothing else was open for most of the year. Without lockdown, though I don’t think this would have happened as not many good games came out in 2020 at all.

Xbox cloud gaming for iOS and PC soon- no exact dates were given but Microsoft brass hinted it will be imminent. Would you play game pass games on your PC?

PS4 clock failure will brick your console?

Steam offers cross-platform gaming

Main topic- Non-fungible tokens

Non-fungible tokens and how devs have been selling nothing for years. Do you remember the first digital thing you bought? Was it an iTunes song? Some game gold? We talk about our earliest “not real” purchases, why the trend is worrisome, and if anything can be done about it. Should you continue to invest in digital-only goods? Do you have a choice? Should you lower your expectations or should devs lower prices? We’ll discuss all that and actually explain what non-fungible tokens are, for those not in the know.
