“Obi-Wan Kenobi” limited series will debut on Disney+ May 25

Big news today from the Star Wars universe. It was announced that “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the new Disney+ limited series from Lucasfilm, will debut exclusively on Disney+ on May 25th, 2022. Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars,

“Obi-Wan Kenobi”

The series will star Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master. The story will take place 10 years after the events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith”. The series will also mark the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi will have to come face to face with the downfall and corruption of his Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

A poster for the series was also announced that featured Obi-Wan Kenobi walking through a desert which we assume is Tattoine.  where he lived as a way to hide his existence from the Empire that was out to kill and also as a way to keep a close eye on the son of Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker. Tattoine is the homeworld to the native Jawa and Tusken Raider species that are depicted throughout the star wars franchise, but most recently in The Book of Boba Fett

Obi-Wan Kenobi will stream exclusively on Disney+ on May 25. A day before the much anticipated Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, CA is scheduled to take place. The series was initially announced in August of 2019 at the D23 celebration in Amanehim, CA and production wrapped two years later in August of 2021.
