Do you like live action role playing shows, like Dimension 20, Critical Role or Into the Motherlands? Well, The First Watch is another one to add to the roster!
The First Watch
The First Watch is an actual play web series operating with Dungeons and Dragons 5e! Set in a original world called the Kingdom of Alçon, the veils between the planes of existence are so thin that a thunderstorm can cause the Feywild to shift into reality…
And chaos is always on the brink.
The First Watch has been around since 2019 and has just completed their first full campaign, which stretched over three seasons!
Just like other live action role playing shows, you don’t necessarily need to start right at the beginning to jump on board! But, if you’re like myself and love to start things in chronological order, then you can start with Realm Shield, The First Watch’s campaign one! However, if you don’t want to start there, then there are multiple mini series and one shots on The First Watch’s YouTube channel that may strike your fancy.
“If you want something that’s a little more in the style of The Goonies we’ve got The Half Pints, where a bunch of kids try to solve a mystery on the farm, if you want something that’s a little more like an action film check out The Knights of Exesa, which is a three-part mini series where badass knights protect a foreign diplomat through the streets of the capital city…”
For newer content, The First Watch is currently in the middle of their second season of their podcast, “The Inn at the Edge Greenwood.” So, if you’re looking for something more cozy, storytelling by the fireside style, then this is a good one to check out! Episodes come out every other Friday. In addition, their newest western themed mini series, Showdown at Grispen Hills launched last Tuesday (March 29th) with episodes dropping every Tuesday for the next three weeks!
Where To Find The First Watch
