The internet was in an uproar over the comment made by Entertainment and Arts Reporter for BBC News, Ian Youngs, in his post titled “How will the first female Doctor shake things up?”

“And what a great way to refresh a franchise, especially after four years of Peter Capaldi, who certainly wasn’t universally loved.”

Fans across the world are more than excited for Jodie Whittaker and her debut as The Doctor. What should have been a day of full celebration for the Thirteenth Doctor’s red carpet premier in Sheffield was left bittersweet with fans feeling betrayed by the network they so love. And although we know everyone has their own unique taste in Doctors, the Internet made sure to let Mr. Youngs know just how they felt about Peter Capaldi! The hashtag #TheUniverseLovesPeterCapaldi started to trend across all social media platforms with photos, fond memories, memes, cosplay photos, and more in defense of the previous Doctor.

“I'm not saying he was perfect. You know that better than me. But he worked hard. He always worked hard. I don't think that's valued enough these days, hard work. And he was a good man. I want you to know that. John Frobisher was a good man. Because when the history of this is written, they'll talk about the ministers, and the soldiers, and the things with numbers for names, and I think people will forget how very good he was. I want you to remember him like that. If ever you think of John Frobisher, just remember that it wasn't his fault.” —————————————————————————— . Remarkable how fitting that quote from Children Of Earth would be if you changed John Frobisher to Peter Capaldi and changed the Context of that quote to be about how the writing from the last 4 years let down a man who deserved a better run as the Doctor and the incident today. . Peter Capaldi, whilst I’m not a fan of his era, does not deserve at all to be belittled by the BBC. I’m still unsure whether it’s part of the marketing plan or just a stand alone journalist, but to single him out like that was beyond unacceptable. #theuniverselovespetercapaldi

Me when a BBC reporter dares to imply Peter Capaldi damaged the show because he wasn’t "universally loved." from doctorwho

  1. I loved Capaldi as The Doctor. I hated the SJW/PC scripts that were full of Leftist/Socialist/Feminist/Man-hating propaganda. The stories for the last two seasons were horrible. The only thing worth watching was Capaldi trying to make chicken soup out of chicken $hit.
