It’s time to read some new comics. So get yourself down to your favorite comic shop. Get a comfortable place to sit down and read, and let’s enjoy some new comics. Here are our picks for this week.

X-23

If you didn’t know, there’s an all new Wolverine in town. X-23, Laura Kinney, has taken on the role of Wolverine. She also has a little sister with the same powers who goes by the code name Honey Badger. This series just began and focuses on their relationship as superhero sisters and focuses on their big sister/little sister dynamic. It’s got tons of heart and action within the pages and their first story arc brings something different while staying the same. In the X-Men Universe, things get a little weird, which is always normal. The Stepford Cuckoos have put forth a plan to bring back one of their dead sisters and they need Honey Badger to complete the mission. X-23 ain’t having any of that and that brings us to another mysterious lab where the scientists who created X-23 and Honey Badger are doing more nefarious experiments. What does this mean for the Stepford Cuckoos? Where does X-23 and Honey Badger fit into all of this? Pick up your copy of X-23 and find out.

Paradise Court

Let’s head over to New Mexico, where the series Paradise Court takes place. This new comic is about a young couple who decide to take a road trip to visit their long time friend who now lives in a swanky gated community. Everything is lovely and it seems like everyone is living the good life. However, of course, things aren’t always what they seem and the grass isn’t always greener. There seems to be (there totally is) a killer on the loose and it’s up to the upstanding citizens of Paradise Court to figure out what exactly is going on and why.

The art in this comic is amazing. Also the story telling is well paced and this comic reads like a horror thriller. This is definitely a title for mature readers so use discretion when letting the kids read your new comics. The creative team behind this series are writer Joe Brusha and artist Babisu Kourtis. Zenescope Entertainment publishes this series.

Flavor

We all love food? Right? I know I do. New comic books aren’t always about superheroes and saving the world. They can also be able simpler things like cooking. Also there’s a dog chopping celery on the cover which is totally what caught my eye on this issue. I went right in for the dog and I stayed for the amazing premise which is Flavor. Flavor takes place in a mysterious walled town where an unlicensed and underage chef has a ton of responsibility thrust upon them. It seems as if all of life’s challenges have sudden come raining down. On top of that, a secret about the town has just been revealed that can bring down everything. On top of THAT, there’s a huge Hunger Games like cooking competition coming up that the young chef needs to prepare for.

This new ongoing series also includes bonus culinary advice. The bonus culinary consulting is brought to you by renowned food scientist Ali Bouzari. Dive right into this new ongoing series and get ready to salivate at some of the amazing food tips brought to you by the creative team of Joseph Keatinge (writer) and Wook Jin Clark (artist). Flavor is a pretty sweet book. Flavor is brought to you by Image Comics.

Those are the new comics recommendations for the week!!
