Dungeon Masters Jasmine Bhular

Jasmine Bhullar Reveals What She Learned From Dimension 20 On A Bus Dragon Master Katie Marovitch

“Dimension 20” returned with a hilarious surprise for April Fool’s Day. As part of the “Game Changers” episode “Fools Gold,” Katie Marovitch pitched “Dimension 20: On A Bus.” The short video featured Marovitch, dressed as Legolas, as the “Dragon Master” for an impressive table of players. This included past “Dimension 20” Game Masters Brennan Lee Mulligan, Aabria Iyengar, Matt Mercer, and Jasmine Bhullar.

On April Fools’ Day of this year, “Dimension 20: On A Bus” returned for a second season. This consisted of an hour-long episode and “Adventuring Party.” A huge part of the comedy comes from the distress of the players as Marovitch’s complete lack of understanding of Dungeons & Dragons as she trolls them. During the episode and in an interview with Variety, Marovitch expressed her desire to continue “Dimension 20: On A Bus.”

In an exclusive interview with Temple of Geek, Jasmine Bhullar touches on her time on “Dimension 20: On A Bus.” Bhullar explains that she did in fact learn from her experience as a player with Katie Marovitch as “Dragon Master.” She also shares how she took these lessons into her work as Dungeon Master on “Dungeon Masters.”

“What I Learned From Katie [Marovitch] Is To Step Forward With Bravery”

Jasmine Bhullar

[Laughing] Okay, jokes aside, I think what I learned from Katie is to step forward with bravery. Because if I was DMing for that table, I would be pissing myself. And Katie doesn’t know what she’s doing, she feels no fear in her heart. And in my mind, I’m like, unlike Katie, you’ve actually read the book. So coming to the table with all of these fabulous people, you gotta channel a little bit of that fearlessness because you’ve at least read the book. So I already am better equipped.

Mayanna Berrin:

Have the audacity.

Jasmine Bhullar

She taught me bravery. And also that a good wig can get you through almost anything.

Dimension 20 On A Bus

Bhullar is a skilled Dungeon Master, having led games on multiple series. However, it seems Marovitch, who has notably less experience, may have taught or at least reminded her of a few things too. Marovitch’s sheer confidence in the face of a complete lack of knowledge as she leads some of the best Dungeon Masters in the world of actual play is endlessly entertaining.

Bhullar has the skill, knowledge, and experience to back up the confidence and lack of fear that Marovitch instilled in her. This experience could, hopefully, open the door to Bhular taking big swings, especially in “Dungeon Masters,” more horror-driven campaign. As Berrin added, “have the audacity.”
