Camryn Grimes Interview for Mouse P.I. For Hire

Camryn Grimes Talks Mouse P.I. for Hire and Her First Game Role

Camryn Grimes has entered the world of video games with Mouse P.I. for Hire. In the new noir-inspired adventure from Fumi Games and PlaySide, Grimes voices Tammy Tumbler, a handy problem-solver in the world of Mouseburg.

In a new Temple of Geek interview, Grimes talked about joining the project and why it stood out. Her husband works in game performance and knew about Mouse P.I. for Hire. When they both received auditions for the game, he showed her the project’s style, presence, and growing excitement.

That made booking the role even more special. Grimes said this felt like the perfect first video game role. The game brought together several things she loved, from animation-inspired characters to a playful sense of humor. Tammy also clicked for her right away. Grimes mentioned the visual reference helped her understand the character quickly. Tammy’s practical, tool-loving personality felt familiar, especially since Grimes described herself as the handyman in her own family.

The conversation explored the game’s tone from Camryn’s perspective. Mouse P.I. for Hire leans into detective noir, fast-talking dialogue, camp, and plenty of cheese puns. Grimes praised the writing for fully embracing that style. She also explained how Troy Baker’s recorded lines as Jack Pepper helped guide her performance. That allowed her to play Tammy as a witty and playful contrast to Jack’s gruff detective energy.

While this is Grimes’ first game role, she hopes it is not her last. She talked about wanting to explore more voice acting in games, including motion capture and more dramatic performances.
