Colossalcon is rapidly evolving into a year-round experience, with the first inland weekend of the season set to kick off soon. Between May and November, fans can attend four distinct Colossalcon events—each hosted at a different Kalahari Resort—plus an anime-themed cruise. Every stop features a full weekend of anime and gaming programming. No matter which location you choose, it offers a unique experience and a self-described “paradise for cosplayers.”

What Makes Colossalcon Unique
Each Colossalcon weekend is held at a different Kalahari resort location. That means you’ll get the full suite of convention activities like panels, artists, autograph guests, etc, with a whole waterpark attached. The level of creativity is on display as attendees adapt their cosplays into swimsuit versions of their characters.
The Kalahari makes it just as much a vacation spot as a convention. Attendees could spend just as much time at a panel or gaming tournament as the swim up bar or waterslide, all in full cosplay. There’s also a healthy nightlife, with a formal ball, emo night, EDM raves, and night swim events.
Colossalcon – A Year-Long Event
Since the first Kalahari held Colossalcon in 2009, it’s expanded to all current Kalahari locations. Now called Colossalcon Prime, it will be held on 27-31 May in the Sandusky, Ohio Kalahari location. Colossalcon Texas is held from 21-23 August in Round Rock. In September, East comes to the Poconos in Pennsylvania from 10-13. Last of the year is North at the Wisconsin Kalahari from 20-22 November.
There’s also a Colossalcon Cruise in Feb that leaves from Port Canaveral, Florida. A new Kalahari location is set to open in Virginia in late 2026, with Colossalcon Virginia already planned for May 2027.
