Fresh out of Anime Expo 2026, Warner Bros. Japan LLC Anime Production has officially dropped a massive wave of updates for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Devils’ Crest.
Originally launched in 2022 under KADOKAWA’s Dengeki Bunko imprint, Devils’ Crest is the latest mind-bending work from Reki Kawahara, the legendary creator behind mega-hits Sword Art Online and Accel World. Featuring original character designs by Yukiko Horiguchi. This new project trades traditional virtual reality for a hauntingly immersive Mixed Reality (MR) setting where the physical world and a survival game collide. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming series:

The First Trailer for Devils’ Crest Anime & Opening Theme by Ado
Warner Bros. Japan treated fans to the very first look at the anime, unveiling a key visual and a high-stakes teaser trailer. The adaptation promises to blend the boundaries of gaming and reality into a dark, unforgiving death game. Fans can watch the first teaser trailer directly via the official YouTube link.
In a massive musical announcement, J-pop sensation Ado has been confirmed to perform the opening theme song, titled “Shinka.” The track is written by renowned Vocaloid producer YurryCanon.
Ado shared her excitement in a special comment, noting that “Shinka” explores the blurring boundaries between reality and games. Raising questions about where our true feelings lie and what is real versus illusion. She added that even in the face of uncertainty and inner conflict. The song ultimately encourages believing in yourself and continuing to move forward.

In addition, Warner Bros. Japan Anime Production screened a 15th anniversary, a special “15-Second Challenge” video featuring Ado. It originally debuted at the Anime Expo panel, but has also been released to the public. The short promotional video is available to watch on YouTube.
