D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event has officially returned to Anaheim from August 14, 15, and 16, 2026. Bringing together Disney’s most passionate fans for a dynamic showcase of storytelling, creativity, and innovation from across the worlds of Disney, this one-of-a-kind, multi-day celebration features an expanded show floor alongside an extraordinary lineup of programming. During a major presentation at the Honda Center, Lucasfilm delivered a massive announcement for Star Wars fans: Season 2 of the Emmy® Award-winning series “Ahsoka” will premiere January 20, 2027, exclusively on Disney+.
The Stage Presentation & First Look
Series creator and Lucasfilm President and CCO Dave Filoni, along with stars Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, and Eman Esfandi, took to the stage at the Honda Center to debut the teaser trailer and poster to a wildly enthusiastic response. Set after the fall of the Empire and the rise of the New Republic, the new season has Ahsoka confronting what it means to be a Jedi, while the galaxy faces a formidable opponent in Grand Admiral Thrawn.
What to Expect in Season 2
Season 2 continues the story of Ahsoka Tano and her extraordinary journey beyond the known galaxy. As Ahsoka and her Jedi apprentice Sabine Wren travel across a mysterious and perilous world to find their way home, their friends Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper must face the powerful Grand Admiral Thrawn and his sinister allies, who seek to plunge the New Republic into war.
Cast & Creative Team
The series stars Rosario Dawson in the titular role alongside Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen, Eman Esfandi, Ivanna Sakhno, Rory McCann, and Hayden Christensen. The directors for the upcoming season are Dave Filoni, Jennifer Getzinger, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anders Engström. The series is written by Dave Filoni, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Jon Favreau and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist serves as co-executive producer, with John Bartnicki and Joan Schneider producing.
Season 1 of “Ahsoka,” along with the full Star Wars Collection, is currently available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
