HBO has released the first official teaser for its upcoming drama series, HOUSE OF THE DRAGON. The teaser was first unveiled as part of today’s HBO Max Europe launch event.
Cast Reveals
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. The teaser featured the first official footage from the highly anticipated series. We have seen a few photos and some casting information that had been released earlier this year. This trailer reveals several previously announced cast members in addition to the following newly revealed cast.
Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon – Younger brother to Coryls Velaryon and commander in the Velaryon navy. John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon – Son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen. Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron – Daughter of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen. Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon – Son of Corlys Velaryon and Rhaenys Targaryen.
Previously announced cast included Olivia Cooke as “Alicent Hightower” and Rhys Ifans as “Otto Hightower.” Emma D’Arcy as “Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen” and Matt Smith as “Prince Daemon Targaryen.” Also, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, “The Sea Snake.”
Author of the novels, George R.R. Martin, serves as Co-Creator and executive producer, alongside Co-Creator and Co-Showrunner Ryan Condal and Co-Showrunner/Director of the pilot episode. The series is due to come out in 2022, but official dates have not been given.
