Anime Pasadena is back for its third year! Taking place Saturday, December 11th and Sunday, December 12th, Anime Pasadena 2021 will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center. Here are some things you need to know and what to expect to have the best experience.
What to expect from Anime Pasadena 2021
This is an anime and cosplay convention with special guests, scheduled cosplay meetups, exhibitors, artists, and a fashion show.
The list of guests for this year’s convention includes many voice actors from a variety of anime. These guests include, but are not limited to:
- Christopher Sabat (All Might from My Hero Academia and Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z)
- Sean Schemmel (Goku, King Kai, and Nail from Dragon Ball Z)
- Maile Flanagan (Naruto from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden)
- Veronica Taylor (Ash Ketchum from the original Pokémon series)
- Jason Liebrecht (Dabi from My Hero Academia and Zeke and the Beast Titan from Attack On Titan)
- Leah Clark (Toga from My Hero Academia, lair from Soul Eater, and Mavis Vermillion from Fairy Tail)
- Zeno Robinson (Hawks from My Hero Academia)

Cosplay is a big deal at anime conventions! This year, there are attendee-scheduled meetups for cosplayers of different anime. As of now, here is the schedule of meetups:
Saturday, December 11th:
- Chainsawman cosplay gathering from 1pm-2pm
- Sailor Moon cosplay gathering (day 1) from 2pm-3pm
- CLAMP cosplay gathering from 2pm-3pm
- Naruto cosplay gathering from 2:30pm-2pm
- My Hero Academia cosplay gathering at 3pm
- Genshin Impact cosplay gathering from 4pm-5pm
Sunday, December 12th:
- Sailor Moon cosplay gathering from 2pm-3pm
- Demon Slayer cosplay gathering from 2pm-3pm
For details on where these meetups are happening, use the “meet ups” tab on the Anime Pasadena website. Each meetup has a corresponding Facebook event with the necessary details.
Preparing for the convention
Whether this will be your first convention or you need a refresher because it has been too long since your last convention, we have a guide for you! A quick list of things you should have with you at a convention includes:
- refillable water bottle
- charger and cable for your phone
- cash
- pre-packaged snacks that will not melt
- whatever you use as your preferred headache reliever (Tylenol, Advil, etc.)
Due to COVID-19, Anime Pasadena will be following the city’s mandates and will provide more accurate information regarding restrictions closer to the convention itself.
