Trek fans planning to stay cool indoors and have some laughs in the summer will have even more reasons to enjoy the summer. Animated comedy series Star Trek: Lower Decks will also premiere in the summer of 2023! However, there is no premiere date yet for the 4th season. Ahead of the premiere, Paramount+ released this synopsis of the fourth season of Lower Decks:

In season four of Lower Decks, an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn’t important enough for stuff like that! Instead, Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Provisional Ensign T’Lyn are keeping up with their Starfleet duties, avoiding malevolent computers, and getting stuck in a couple caves– all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way.

Furthermore, Paramount+ announced a renewal for a fifth season!

Although no specific release date has been set. The announcement of a second season was greenlit back in 2021 during the series’ early episodes. The Emmy Award-winning animated hit Star Trek: Prodigy has become a household delight appealing to children who are new to Trek and adults who have embraced the lore, storytelling, and tie-ins to other Trek TV serials.
