ATLUS announced that they will host a panel titled “ATLUS Presents: The World of Metaphor: ReFantazio” at Anime Expo 2024. This panel features Katsura Hashino and Shigenori Soejima, who will also be guests of honor at this year’s convention.

Metaphor: ReFantazio at Anime Expo 2024

The panel at this year’s Anime Expo will take place on July 5th from 10:30 AM – 11:20 AM in Petree Hall. “ATLUS Presents: The World of Metaphor: ReFantazio featuring Katsura Hashino & Shigenori Soejima” will bring RPG fans together to explore game development, character designing, and world-building magic. This exciting panel offers exciting, unseen footage and the reveal of exclusive characters.

Earlier this month, Anime Expo announced that it will recognize both Katsura Hashino and Shigenori Soejima as Guests of Honor. Katsura Hashino is a game director and producer working at ATLUS. Katrua Hashino is responsible for notable titles including Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 5, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne and Catherine. He launched his production unit “Studio Zero” within ATLUS. Now, he is developing the highly anticipated new JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Shigenori Soejima is a Japanese designer working at ATLUS. He is known for his work as a character designer on the Persona series, starting with Persona 3. He is currently spearheading the character design for Metaphor: ReFantazio.

ATLUS’ upcoming JRPG takes place in the United Kingdom of Euchronia. Chaos and unrest occurs after the assassination of the king. A curse falls over the land, throwing its citizens into confusion and causing them to begin to fight in a tournament for the throne. However, the protagonist is determined to find a way to break the curse and bring peace back to the world. In order to do so, they must gather as many allies as possible and participate in the fated tournament.
