Anime Riverside 2023 | What you need to know

Anime Riverside is back for its second year and is happening on May 27th and 28th! Coming to the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California, Anime Riverside 2023 will be a fantastic weekend for anime fans. Here are the things you need to know before attending the convention.

Nerdbot is hosting the second annual Anime Riverside at the Riverside Convention Center. There will be something for everyone, from cosplay to celebrity guests and so much more.

Cosplay is always a fun way to meet more people who are fans of the same characters and shows. Anime Riverside has great meetup spots for cosplay meetups and photos. There will be fan-run cosplay meetups throughout the weekend. If you want to submit your own, visit the Anime Riverside official Facebook page. These are the meetups on the current schedule:

Saturday, May 27th:

  • 12:30 PM – Sailor Moon
  • 1:00 PM – Bungo Stray Dogs 
  • 1:00 PM – Hololive
  • 1:00 PM – Sanrio
  • 1:00 PM – Call of Duty/Soldier
  • 2:00 PM – Super Mario
  • 2:00 PM – Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss
  • 2:00 PM – Atlus
  • 2:00 PM – MXTX
  • 2:30 PM – Splatoon
  • 3:00 PM – Chainsaw Man
  • 3:30 PM – Monster High
  • 4:00 PM – The Owl House

Sunday, May 28th:

  • 1:00 PM – Nintendo
  • 1:30 PM – One Piece
  • 3:00 PM – Demon Slayer
  • 4:00 PM – The Owl House
  • 4:00 PM – Naruto/Boruto

On top of the variety of cosplay meetups, Anime Riverside 2023 is hosting two cosplay contests. The adult cosplay contest is on Saturday at 6:00 PM. This contest is open to cosplayers 16 years old and older. Sign-ups are open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the day of the contest. The kid’s cosplay contest is on Sunday at 5:00 PM. Cosplayers ages 15 years and younger can participate and sign up on the same day before 3:00 PM. Also, there will be a photo room for cosplayers to get free photos taken.

Celebrity Guests

This year, anime fans are invited to meet their favorite English dub voice actors from a variety of anime. These guests will be available all weekend to sign autographs and take photos. Fans will find their prices and advertised services at their individual tables. Here is the impressive list of guests that will be attending:

Anime Riverside 2023 will have a variety of vendors, artists, panels, and other events throughout the weekend. Other events include anime wrestling, a maid café, an itasha car show, and more! Be sure to follow Anime Riverside on Instagram so you don’t miss out.

Street parking in Downtown Riverside is free over the weekend. City lots and parking garages are also available for a small daily fee around the convention center. Most of the parking is within a few minutes’ walking distance. Also, with the weather heating up in Southern California, bring water and be sure to keep yourself hydrated.

Tickets can be purchased on the Anime Riverside website as well as on-site. However, the prices will go up on May 27th, so be sure to grab your tickets soon!
