AnimeNYC Cosplay Gallery 2022

This weekend, AnimeNYC took over the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan for three days of fun and celebration of Japanese pop culture. Here is some of the fantastic AnimeNYC cosplay we saw this weekend.

AnimeNYC

Held from November 18-20, AnimeNYC is in its fifth year and boasts an impressive roster of entertainment guests, big name exhibitors, and even a food hall where attendees can try authentic Japanese food, from boba to bao.

AnimeNYC Cosplay Roundup

Cosplay has grown in popularity over the years. Cosplayers draw inspiration from their anime, movies, televisions shows, comics, video games, or other sources of pop culture, and represent their favorite characters through costumes. As with all anime conventions, cosplayers turned out in full force in Manhattan for all three days of AnimeNYC.

Cosplay Trends

One of the most popular anime/manga represented by cosplayers this year at AnimeNYC was Chainsaw Man. The hit manga was adapted into anime that premiered on Crunchyroll on October 12, 2022, with the English dub following shortly after on October 25, 2022.

Other popular anime, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, and more were equally represented at this year’s convention.
