Ashley Eckstein and Michael James Scott will host the Her Universe Fashion Show 2023 at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20th.
The 9th annual Her Universe Fashion Show is free for San Diego Comic-Con attendees and all ages are welcome. The event will celebrate 100 Years of Disney and feature a geek couture fashion competition.
What to Expect at the Her Universe Fashion Show 2023
The Her Universe Fashion Show will be held on Thursday, July 20 at 6 p.m. PT in the Harbor Ballroom of the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Check-in begins at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 20th, with doors open at 4:15 PM. In past years, fans have lined up for hours before the show to try and get a good seat. By the time last year’s event started, there was only standing room left. I definitely recommend showing up for check-in at 11 am. And be sure to get in line early for a good seat.
Audience members help choose one of the winners, as well as an expert panel of judges. It’s easy to be blown away by these one-of-a-kind designs. Each year we are consistently blown away by the contestants and their passion for their fandoms. I do not envy the tough decisions the judges will have to make.
Hot Topic will transform the lobby into a whimsical fan experience in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Disney’s Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Fans will have the opportunity to embark on a winding path through the Cemetery, take photos, spin Oogie Boogie’s prize wheel, and more.

Through the power of this event, Eckstein’s dedication to her community is clear to see. She gives back in a way that is organic and passionate. Eckstein is the heart of this event, and we are lucky to have her continue to put on this show for us.
During last year’s event, video screens played the contestant’s inspirational stories about how important the HUFS was to them. The event was a testament to the power of community and fandom. Eckstein’s passion for fandoms and her fans is evident in everything she does. She is a role model for other geeks, and she inspires us to give back to our own communities.
