Tom Clancy’s WITHOUT REMORSE
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, follows the story of an elite Navy SEAL who uncovers an international conspiracy while seeking justice for the murder of his pregnant wife. The film takes us through the explosive story of action hero John Clark – one of the most popular characters in author Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan universe. When a squad of Russian soldiers kills his family in retaliation for his role in a top-secret op, Sr. Chief John Kelly (Michael B. Jordan) pursues the assassins at all costs.
This film is the first movie to come out of Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society, and is directed by Stefano Sollima.
Throughout the film, Sr. Chief John Kelly (Michael B. Jordan) is seen with fellow SEAL Karen Greer (Jodie Turner-Smith). Greer is with Kelly from beginning to end and is by his side both as a fellow soldier and as a friend. That friendship and loyalty are particularly important throughout the movie. There is no way that John Kelly would have been able to get by without her help. Greer’s compassion and empathy for John Kelly are clear when she releases a variety of classified information, even joining him on missions, in order to help Kelly.
Jodie Turner-Smith is a badass on and off camera, pregnant while filming
When casting announcements were made for this film it was rumored that Karen Greer might be a possible love interest for John Kelly. But as it turns out, the love interest is Pam Kelly, John Kelly’s slain wife, who is played by Lauren London. In this film, Greer plays more of a best friend and confidant to Kelly.
Now we know that Jodie Turner-Smith can portray a badass as well be a real-life badass. During a press Q&A with the cast of Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, Jodie Turner-Smith discussed what it was like filming such intense action scenes and revealed that she was pregnant while filming. When asked about the more physical aspects of filming and pushing her body to the limit to get the shot, she revealed that she was pregnant at the time.
And it’s so funny because I’ve trained for many things in my life, but what was required from me physically with carrying this baby and doing this film is unlike anything.”
“That definitely added a level of intensity to it that I didn’t even myself anticipate. I mean, I’m used to feeling like ok I’m a strong person. I’m an athletic person, I can push my body to the limit, do this, this, and that. And to sort of jump into this. And you know I kind of have a little bit of background in this genre.” Turner-Smith went on to explain, “I started on a television show on TNT called The Last Ship. That was kind of my first big role on television and that was kind of all about just running around, getting the bad guys, jumping in and out of stuff, getting exploded. So I thought, you know, this was something that I was definitely ready to throw my body into. But to sort of add that really unique… and I mean, nobody really told me all that your body is going through. And it’s so funny because I’ve trained for many things in my life, but what was required from me physically with carrying this baby and doing this film is unlike anything.”
This film is directed by Stefano Sollima and produced by Akiva Goldsman, Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec, and Michael B. Jordan and Executive Produced By Denis Stewart, Alana Mayo, Greg Lessans, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, the film will be available on Prime video on April 30th.
