Crunchyroll Launches Account Linking on Discord

Crunchyroll has teamed up with Discord in order to provide fans with a way to discover and share more anime. Anime fans can now link their Crunchyroll account to show their friends what they’re watching and engage with other fans.

Crunchyroll on Discord

In order to create the ultimate anime-watching experience, Discord will now offer anime fans a way to connect their Crunchyroll accounts. With Crunchyroll’s integration and the introduction of Rich Presence, anime fans will be able to discover new series, movies, and extra content. Rich Presence is available anywhere fans can watch Crunchyroll.

Connections Example

Rich Presence is rolling out to Discord users throughout the day. It can be enabled by linking a Crunchyroll account through Discord’s web or desktop apps. To link accounts, Crunchyroll subscribers should log in to their Discord on a desktop or on the web. Then, go to user settings, navigate to Connections, and click the Crunchyroll logo.

Kaliel Roberts, Chief Product Officer, Crunchyroll, said:

“Anime is an adventure, and Crunchyroll’s Rich Presence on Discord will allow our fans to take their journey together. The Crunchyroll community loves to share their favorite anime with their friends and now on Discord, fans have another avenue to celebrate their favorite series, discover new shows, and build deeper connections through the content they love.”

There is an official discord community for subscribers to join where new events and activations will be announced.

Terry Li, Senior Vice President of Emerging Business, Crunchyroll, said:

“Not only does our partnership with Discord enrich our fans’ experience with Crunchyroll, but it invites new fans into the world of anime as curious users can see what their friends are streaming in real time.”

Crunchyroll connects anime and manga fans across more than 200 countries and territories with the content and experiences they love. In addition to free ad-supported and subscription premium content, the anime streaming platform serves the anime community across events, theatrical, games, consumer products, collectibles and manga publishing.
