Dimension 20 Titan Takedown

Dimension 20 Follows Dungeons & Drag Queens With WWE Stars

The upcoming season of “Dimension 20,” “Titan Takedown,” will showcase WWE Superstars making their debut in the dome. This follows the second season of the wildly popular “Dungeons & Drag Queens,” which stars famous Queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” On the surface, these two side quests could be seen as merely bringing in performers from other popular story mediums. However, drag and wrestling have a long history that ties them together as the perfect pairing.

The intersectionality of drag and wrestling is not a new topic of discussion. It has been covered several times by NPR, Vice, and even Dropout. During the second episode of the debut season of “Smartypants” Jess Ross’ presentation argued, “wrestling is drag.” Ross hits a number of points, highlighting the performative aspects, including how they tie in with gender. Ross also examines how the format of both WWE and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” are similar.

How Drag, Wrestling, And Dungeons & Dragons Is The Perfect Storytelling Culmination

In the Vice article, Camila Martinez-Granata points out, “Both arenas are spaces where reality is suspended, if only for a brief moment. It’s where people are free to become a version of themselves that’s entirely self-determined.” Interestingly enough, this is also the definition of Dungeons & Dragons.

All three are performative, with stories of villains and heroes at their core. Fans of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” already knew Bob the Drag Queen, Alaska Thunderfuck, Monét X Change, and Jujubee were skilled performers, but “Dungeons & Drag Queens” took it to the next level, showing off their abilities as improvisational collaborative storytellers. WWE Superstars Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, Bayley, and Chelsea Green are sure to follow in their footsteps.

Dimension 20: Titan Takedown Could Capture The Same Magic Of Dungeons & Drag Queens

In “Dimension 20: Titan Takedown,” Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston will play monk Julius Mortem and King Adonis Thanaformus, respectively. Bayley will be playing Minotaur barbarian Thea, and Chelsea Green the feline rogue Tabatha. This four-episode season is set in ancient Greece, with the Gods of Greek mythology coming to life at the table. The players will bring their wrestling skills to the dome, with professional wrestling at the center of this season’s story.

“Dungeons & Drag Queens” brought in a new audience that fell in love with TTRPGs and “Dimension 20.” Drag fans experienced the magic of this game along with the Questing Queens. The Righteous Wrestlers are sure to follow suit with “Titan Takedown.” Wrestling and drag have always had an unexpected Venn diagram of fans. With gender expression, storylines featuring faces and heels, costumes, etc. “Dimension 20” is perfect for these fans, covering many of the similarities in both wrestling and drag.

“Dimension 20: Titan Takedown” debuts on Dropout on April 2. Both seasons of “Dimension 20: Dungeons & Drag Queens” are available now on Dropout.
