Filming “The Vampire Lestat” in Canada

For the last few months filming for “The Vampire Lestat” has been spotted by fans all around Toronto. During the press conference at New York Comic Con, we found out what the cast is up to around Toronto when they’re not filming. Jacob Anderson (“Louis de Pointe du Lac”) has been frequenting a few iconic movie theaters downtown:

Shout out TIFF Lightbox and Scotiabank Theatre. I spend a lot of time with both of those places.

– Jacob Anderson (“Louis de Pointe du Lac”)

While Anderson is enjoying the theaters around Toronto, Sam Reid (“Lestat de Lioncourt”) has a more intense shooting schedule:

“It’s like a rolling schedule. So we start Monday at like 5am and we finish Friday at like 7am. We don’t really live outside of the show. So Toronto is a beautiful city I’ve seen from a car window.

– Sam Reid (“Lestat de Lioncourt”)

Canadian Talent in the New Season

AMC also announced new casting at New York Comic Con which include Canadian talent playing parts in Lestat’s band. Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek, Outer Range) will be playing “Larry”. Seamus Patterson (“Star Trek: Discovery”, “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities”) will be playing “Alex”. Executive Producer Hannah Moscovitch, who is Canadian, was excited to have this season come to Canada and add Canadian talent to the cast.

And I’m Canadian. And I lived in Toronto for most of my career. It’s been such a huge pleasure to be back and to be able to pull Canadian actors and Canadian talent onto the show like wholesale… I’m calling in favours.

– Hannah Moscovitch (Executive Producer, Writer)

There’s some amazing actors this season. There’s always been amazing actors.

– Jacob Anderson (“Louis de Pointe du Lac”)

The first two seasons of “Interview with the Vampire” are available to stream on AMC+. “The Vampire Lestat” is set to release in 2026.
