Posted by Pokémon trainers, get your Pokédex ready as Nintendo and Game Freak announced their new entry in the Pokémon franchise on Wednesday. During a Pokemon Direct presentation, it was announced that Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be launching on Nintendo Switch later this year.
In these games, trainers will explore the Galar region, described as “an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.’ You can watch the trailer for yourself down below.
As fans can expect, there will be all new Pokémon to catch in these new entries in the main series. Three new Pokémon were announced during the presentation.
Grookey
Grass-Type
A mischievous Chimp Pokémon that is full of boundless curiosity.
Scorbunny
Fire-Type
A Rabbit Pokémon that is always running about, bursting with energy.
Sobble
Water-Type
A somewhat timid Water Lizard Pokémon that shoots out attacks as it hides itself in the water.
