On February 13th we are celebrating female friendships everywhere! We need to thank Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) from Parks and Recreations for this fictional holiday, as she made Galentine’s Day famous in 2010 in an episode with the same name. And while Valentine’s Day is for people in a romantic relationship, you can always worship the bond with your best friends.
Leslie describes Galentine’s Day as “…the best day of the year! Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it—breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”
There are many female best friends on TV or in movies that we adore. We want to show you some of our favorite duos, trios, and groups.

There might be more ups and downs in these school friendships as life is kinda complicated when you are a teenager. We still adore these friendships and want them to last forever.

Sometimes we end up with best friends because of terrible situations or weird circumstances. Makes you wonder if destiny is for real, or if it’s good karma, that you end up with a soulmate after you went through hell.
