HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE! is the newest game to feature Hatsune Miku mobile rhythm game. The creative team hosted exciting happenings for the fan-base at the Atlus/SEGO booth at Anime Expo 2023. Temple of Geek took a tour of the booth as well as got a demo of the exciting new game.

“Find your music” as you join Hatsune Miku in her latest mobile rhythm game. Players can discover a rich cast of characters overcoming their struggles through the power of music. In the game, a peculiar song named “Untitled” with no melody or lyrics is passed around the youth in Shibuya, Tokyo. This song unlocks access to “SEKAI,” a mysterious place that allows everyone to discover their true emotions and their own song.

The hugely successful mobile rhythm game, HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!, features a wide array of original characters, music, and storylines. Fans are introduced to the five featured groups and an original cast of 20 characters, including Hatsune Miku and her friends. Each character showcases their own musical style and backstories.
Sammi Han, Senior Community Manager and Brand Lead for Anime Expo, gave us a run-down of this bright and fun game:
“So this game is called Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage. It’s a free to play mobile game and it has a very strong IP. If a lot of people know Vocaloid. Like Hatsune Miku, she’s just really popular amongst like, younger audience, especially as you can see. Like we have this booth at Anime Expo this year where like people can play on the stage in front of people. And Yeah, it’s like a really popular game on the phone, and there’s like 200 songs. And we’re always adding more songs almost like once a month or like sometimes even two a month. And yeah, people just really gravitate to this game because they love all of the different characters.”
For fans of the wildly popular games, the Atlus/SEGA booth hosted fun events, including score contests, cosplay gatherings, and more that showcased the creative and passionate Hatsune Miku fanbase. Fans also had the opportunity to acquire Anime Expo exclusive trading cards with the potential to receive a rare, holographic one!
Sammi talked with us about the most exciting part of the activation at the convention. She said:
“At this booth particularly, they’re like really excited to come and play in front of this stage. Yeah, they’ve been standing in line to play this and get the trading cards. We have this exclusive Colorful Stage Anime Expo trading card. They’re like random. There’s like three of them. And the rarest one is a holographic Miku card. Yeah, that’s why everyone’s trying to get here. But there’s, like, multiple ways that they can get the trading card. They can, like, play the game, they can post a picture. There’s a photo booth where you can take pictures with Vocaloid singers and yeah, it’s just people stopping by and having fun.”
