Interview with Voice Actor Jonah Scott at Weebfest ’22

This weekend, September 25th, Weebfest took place in Riverside, California. Weebfest is an anime event put on by the community, for the community. There were vendors, artists, a cosplay contest, and English dub voice actors signing autographs and taking photos. Among those voice actors was Jonah Scott.

Interview with Jonah Scott

Jonah Scott is known for the English dub voices of Joe in Sk8 the Infinity, Legoshi in Beastars, Tatsu in The Way of the House Husband, and more.

We asked Jonah what he felt has been the most rewarding part of being a voice actor. One of those rewards is:

“The most rewarding part about being a voice actor is probably getting to interact with everybody that has, like, seen the product and everything like that. Everybody who watches the dubs, I am an absolute fan of. I’m a fan of the fans because they come up, give me gifts, and it’s all wonderful. I put it all up on walls in my bedroom. All the figures that I get, I try to find a place for everything…engaging with the fandom and engaging with the community is incredibly rewarding.”

Back in August, there was an official announcement for Sk8 the Infinity season 2 as well as an OVA. We asked what Jonah Scott would like to see in this second season. He told us, without skipping a beat:

“I would like to see more Matchablossom. That would be really cool. I think that…they should expand on their relationship. Let us know a little more about, you know, why do they argue the way that they do? I want to see younger Joe and Cherry. I want to see that. Matchablossom would be great!”

For those who may be unfamiliar, “Matchablossom” is the ship (short for “relationship”) name used for the characters Joe and Cherry Blossom in Sk8 the Infinity.
