Monday, Monday: New Adventures for Part-Time Wizard Peter Grant

Due to the overwhelming success of the Rivers of London series, Titan Comics announced they are bringing it to life as a new comic book series earlier this year. Aaronovitch teamed up once more with Doctor Who writer Andrew Cartmel for Monday, Monday to introduce fans to another part in the life of Peter Grant: full-time cop, part-time wizard. The first issue was published in July with the artwork of Jose Maria Beroy.

New Comic Series from the writers of “Rivers of London:” Monday, Monday is available now

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the start of Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London seriesRivers of London is a series of supernatural crime novels by the English author Ben Aaronovitch. They tell the story of young Police Constable Peter Grant. He gets involved in the investigation of a series of mysterious murders. Grant becomes the apprentice of Britain’s last active wizard, Thomas Nightingale, with whom he works on unusual crimes that involve magic and the general weirdness that permeates London. The novels have been international bestsellers, with more than two million copies sold worldwide that have been translated into 14 languages.

Another chapter for Peter Grant

The series Monday, Monday is set around a single day and will contain four different tales that will be told like Detective Stories. It covers the case of a Swedish Werewolf that is on the loose in London. That Werewolf turns a routine, undercover operation into something far more uncanny. It’s up to Peter Grant and his cohort of chums to hunt the deadly creature and bring him to justice. However, the Werewolf stops at nothing to avoid capture.

Thomas Nightingale during WWII

Besides Grant, there are several characters like Miriam Stephanopoulis or Dennis Pringle that are returning in this story. Of course, his Master Thomas Nightingale turns up as well, taking his students on a field trip to the crime scene. In this issue, we also get a look into Nightingale’s past. We learn about his education and the time he already had to deal with Werewolves during World War II.

The second issue is available in stores now and will again have a range of stunning covers to collect.
