Mighty Nein Jester

Nine Days Until The Mighty Nein: Jester Lavorre

“Welcome to the Mighty Nein!” Critical Role’s new animated series is only days away. The new animated series is based on Campaign 2 of Critical Role. The series follows the titular crew of misfits, criminals, and castaways. The ragtag group find themselves embroiled in the midst of a war between two nations. With political minefields at every step, they will struggle to survive and maybe stop the larger conflict.

“The Legend of Vox Machina” is more comedic and in the lane of traditional high fantasy. However, “The Mighty Nein” is a much grittier espionage thriller. The series is set decades after the events of “The Legend of Vox Machina” on a completely different Exandrian continent. With new characters, a new setting, a new era, and even a new tone, it can be a lot for fans. Thus, Temple of Geek wanted to make it a bit easier with “Nine Days Until The Mighty Nein.” In our second episode we are introducing the lovably chaotic, Jester Lavorre.

Meet Jester Lavorre Of The Mighty Nein

Jester Lavorre is a tiefling cleric played by Laura Bailey. In Campaign 1 and “The Legend of Vox Machina,” Bailey plays Vex’ahlia. Jester was raised by her mother, Marion Lavorre, aka The Ruby of the Sea. A famed singer and courtesan, Marion raised Jester in the safety of the Lavish Chateau, where she lives and works. Terrified of the outside world, she kept Jester sheltered. Lonely and bored, Jester turned to art and daydreaming of the outside world.

However, eventually Jester made a mysterious friend known only as The Traveler. Jester’s new best friend stoked the fires of her precocious nature and taught her magic. With these new abilities, Jester and The Traveler would often pull pranks around Nicodranas. However, this mischievous nature would eventually get Jester into trouble. After embarrassing an important figure in the city, Marion sent Jester away for her own safety. Jester met Fjord during her travels, and the duo found the rest of the Mighty Nein while making their way across Wildemount. But that will be explored further in the series.

“The Mighty Nein” premieres on Prime Video November 19. Check back tomorrow for another episode of “Nine Days Until The Mighty Nein.”
