“The Mighty Nein” is only a few days away. The series follows a motley crew of criminals, misfits, and oddballs with a penchant for chaos. Against the backdrop of a long-brewing war, they are unexpectedly thrown together. As the Mighty Nein struggle to survive with dangerous pitfalls at every turn, they’ll have to step up. As possibly the only chance of stopping the war, these are not the heroes anyone would have chosen. The world of “The Mighty Nein” is vast.
Not only are there new characters, a new era in history, and a new part of Exandria to explore, but also a new tone to the series. With this being an espionage thriller, politics and war are at the forefront in a way that they aren’t with the more traditional fantasy epic story of “The Legend of Vox Machina.” To familiarize fans with some of these countless characters and this world, Temple of Geek has launched “Nine Days Until The Mighty Nein.” In our previous episodes we have introduced the other members of the Mighty Nein, including Fjord Stone, Jester Lavorre, Beau Lionett, Caleb Widogast, Nott The Brave, and Mollymauk Tealeaf.
Meet Yasha Nydoorin Of The Mighty Nein
In episode seven we introduce Yasha Nydoorin. Yasha is played by Ashley Johnson, who plays Pike Trickfoot in “The Legend of Vox Machina” and Campaign 1. Throughout Campaign 2, especially early on, Johnson was travelling between Los Angeles and New York for work. Because of this, Yasha would often disappear before rejoining the Mighty Nein on their adventures. However, “The Mighty Nein” team did not want to reflect this in the animated series. So, Yasha’s story, similar to Pike’s in “The Legend of Vox Machina,” will be shifted to be told in a different way.
Yasha grew up in Southern Xhorhas, raised by a warrior clan. Trained as a warrior from a young age, she was crafted into a weapon by the leader. She was eventually given the moniker Orphan Maker. The clan had many rules, one of which was arranged marriages. However, Yasha fell in love with someone she was not betrothed to. This sadly led to great tragedy and loss for Yasha before she escaped the clutches of her clan.
“The Mighty Nein” premieres on Prime Video November 19. The first episode is available on the Prime Video YouTube now through November 16. Check back tomorrow for another episode of “Nine Days Until The Mighty Nein.”
