Project Hail Mary Lights Up the Toronto Sky

If you were in Toronto this Thursday night you might have noticed the sky lighting up the habourfront. 

Rocky, a beloved character from the movie Project Hail Mary, travelled the world this week lighting up the sky in 3 cities. Beginning at Taipei and Berlin their last stop was in Toronto. Hosted by Amazon MGMs Studio, Rocky’s Global Light Show Tour was brought to us as an appetizer to the movie.

Ryan Gosling teased the show on the Project Hail Mary’s Instagram  by saying  “Rocky, my co-star, is going on his own tour.”

The show in Toronto was originally scheduled alongside the rest of the cities on Tuesday. However, the show was postponed due to windy weather the city was experiencing. 

The winds died down on Thursday but the weather was still chilly. Despite this, Torontonians gathered to enjoy the show.

Torontonians watching the show received messages from Rocky including  “Hello Toronto”, “Hello Earth”, and “ See Friends Soon”.

The entire show lasted a total of 10 minutes.

Project Hail Mary  is an adaptation of Andy Weirs’ 2021 novel of the same name. The story follows Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a science teacher and former biologist. Grace finds himself on a spaceship with no memories of how got there. Rocky (James Ortiz) joins Grace on his adventure in space.

You can catch Project Hail Mary this weekend in theaters as well IMAX.
