Charley tries to help Simon get some perspective. Sabrina wouldn’t have reached out if she resented him for their mother’s death. Don’t let fear stop him from having the conversation with his sister. Quinn tells Rhonda that kissing her wasn’t because of the shrooms. Before they can talk more Charley says he lost Simon. Rhonda, Wally and Charley go searching for him. Rhonda confesses to Quinn that hasn’t kissed anyone in 62 years. It’s been hard for her to let others get close after what she experienced in the school. She wasn’t sure she could. Quinn reassures her that they can wait. Rhonda kisses her instead, not wanting to wait any longer. Tracey tells Xavier, Nicole and Claire that Kyle took Tracey to prom but he was different after the bus crash. If the Kyle in the hospital is the real Kyle, then who is walking around in his body?

Review: What ghost is walking around in Kyle Jensen’s body?

If you refuse to learn from the past, you are doomed to repeat it. The perimeter that stops the ghosts from leaving the school is the same cornerstone from the church that used to be there. It’s still keeps them connected in a small way. Simon and Maddie are so alike. It’s why they’re best friends. As much as he wants to get back, he also is afraid of returning to the land of the living. It seems that part of the reason Simon could see Maddie was because he was feeling emotionally distraught when she went missing. Their shared grief and friendship was so strong that even after her spirit went beyond the veil he could still see her when no one else could. They both feel very deeply and suffer in there own vulnerability in silence when they can.

What if White Eyes isn’t Van Heidt? It might be a controversial take but given the information we’ve been given so far it might hold merit. White Eyes could be a church grim. From the puppet show Van Heidt seems to be a hefty man. With a mustache. White Eyes is tall, aging and has receding hair. Is he trying to show Simon the truth of what happened that day? Could Simon be destined for something more when he gets back to the land of the living?

Xavier and Maddie have a heart to heart.

Xavier has had a lot of growth this season but trying to what if his relationship with Maddie right now is not the right time. Something I noticed when Maddie gets her visions and she sees her scar, she’s back in the same clothes she wore when her spirit was forcibly pushed out. Now the door that appeared either is her exit door or Simon’s (that allows him to step back into the human world).

It’s more than just about erasing the past at play here. Freyja said that Van Heidt knowingly let those kids drown. He knew what was going to happen. What if it’s not only about bringing light to the dark past but also finally the truth. Exposing who Van Heidt was and stop his descendants from continuing to harm this community.

And I repeat, who is walking around in Kyle Jensen’s body? The deeper we go the more there is to discover.
