Wētā Workshop Unveils Exclusive Master Jeweller’s Collection at SDCC 2026 Preview Night

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026 officially kicked off tonight with Preview Night, and Middle-earth fans were treated to a monumental reveal at Booth #3613. Wētā Workshop unveiled its highly anticipated Master Jeweller’s Collection, featuring an exquisite line of fine jewellery recreated directly from the original designs featured in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

What makes this collection exceptionally special is the hand behind it: master jeweller Jasmine Watson, the very artist who crafted the original iconic pieces for the film trilogy over 25 years ago.

Uncompromising Craftsmanship: Bringing Film History Back to Life

Taking inspiration from delicate butterfly wings, intertwined serpents, and ethereal dragonflies, the Master Jeweller’s Collection draws deeply on Middle-earth’s rich history and aesthetic motifs.

Rather than taking modern manufacturing shortcuts, Watson returned to her workbench to recreate these pieces using the same uncompromising hands-on processes—and in many cases, the exact same tools—she used over two decades ago.

“These pieces I’m making now are the closest we can get to the originals, and in some cases I’m using the same tools I used on the original pieces,” explains Watson. “The only changes I’ve made are little improvements, and they come down to technique. My technical ability is a bit better now, because it’s been a few years.”

Wētā Workshop Co-founder Richard Taylor highlighted the significance of bringing Watson back for this project:

“The original pieces of jewellery for The Lord of the Rings were created by Jasmine under the direction of Academy Award-winning costume designer Ngila Dickson. These limited-edition pieces are as breathtaking to behold today as the originals were more than 25 years ago, and we are so honoured to have Jasmine recreate this exquisite jewellery which we hope that fans will treasure.”

Watson’s legendary artistry spans over 30 years in film and television, with credits including Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules, The Chronicles of Narnia, Dracula Untold, Mulan, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Her work has even been displayed at the Ueno Royal Museum in Japan and fine art galleries worldwide.

The Collection Unveiled

Tonight at Booth #3613, three legendary pieces made their public debut:

Crown of Arwen™: Crafted in sterling silver with Swarovski crystals and glass beads. Originating from a single butterfly wing concept by costume designer Ngila Dickson, the crown features fine cloisonné-style wirework, hand-threaded beading, and a depletion plating process for a brilliant “mithril-like” finish. Limited edition of 25.

Ring of Aragorn™: Sterling silver complemented by 22ct gold accents and a central tourmaline gemstone. Depicting two entwined serpents and gold flowers, every detail is cut and engraved entirely by hand around the central gem. Limited edition of 25, available in seven sizes (USA T to Z / UK 9.5 to 12.5).

Ring of Galadriel™: Crafted from rhodium-plated 10ct white gold with a white topaz. Known as Nenya, the stone is delicately concealed within hand-engraved dragonfly filigree, allowing glimpses of light through the metalwork. Limited edition of 25, made to order in requested sizing.

Each handmade piece includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Jasmine Watson. The Crown of Arwen comes presented in a custom wooden display box, while the rings arrive in velvet-lined jewellery boxes.

Live Artist Demonstrations: Live painting sessions featuring Wētā Creative Director Jules German and acclaimed fantasy artist Jerry Vanderstelt.

Panel Presentations: Richard Taylor, Flo Floxworthy, and Deborah Scott will participate in IF/THEN panels on Thursday, July 23, at the Omni Hotel, discussing creature building and costume design.
