Following Dr. Frasier Crane, first introduced in Cheers, Frasier set the bar when it came to spin-offs. Earning a whopping 108 Emmy nominations over it’s eleven-year run—which, coincidentally, is the same number of seasons that its parent show had—it is considered one of the best spin-offs of all time. With the new revival, there is no better time to dive into this wonderful series.
Whether you’ve watched Frasier when it started airing in 1993, you’re discovering the show for the first time, or if you’re rewatching the series—I’m watching it for the 8th time because I have no self control—it’s easy to go through its 264 episodes and find one to fit any occasion.
As someone who has seen Frasier multiple times, I’ve comprised a list of episodes to watch depending on your mood. So, let’s get started!
Best Episodes to Watch When You Need a Good Cry
Frasier is no stranger to emotional scenes, and if you’re looking to let out a cry, here are some episodes to help get you started.
Best Episodes to Watch When You Want to Laugh
Of course, since Frasier is a sitcom, there are no shortage of episodes that will leave you in hysterics. That being said, there are a few that stand out more than others, such as:
Best Episodes to Watch When You Want Some Cheers
Though Frasier takes place in Seattle, while its parent series is set in Boston, that doesn’t mean you won’t see your favorite Cheers characters. Lilith Sternin (Bebe Neuwirth), Frasier’s ex-wife, is a recurring character throughout the series. Other characters such as Sam Malone (Ted Danson), Diane Chambers (Shelley Long), Woody Boyd (Woody Harrelson), Carla Tortelli (Rhea Perlman), Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger), and Norm Peterson (George Wendt) make guest appearances.
Holiday Episodes
Like several other sitcoms, Frasier has many holiday-themed episodes that capture the spirit of the occasion, as well as give us some great laughs!
This is only a small portion of what makes Frasier such an incredible show, and though these are definite stand-out episodes, it is worth watching the entire series at least once, or if you’re like me, a few times!
Frasier is available on Hulu and Paramount+, while the revival is streaming exclusively on Paramount.
