Wands at the ready! The Family Wizard Competition training begins now in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Season 2 returns with two episodes on Friday, September 12, on Disney Channel and Disney Channel On Demand. All episodes will be available on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The stars of the first season will return in new adventures. Janice LeAnn Brown will reprise her role as Billie, Mimi Gianopulos will return as Giada Russo, and Alkaio Thiele will be back as Roman Russo. In season 2, Billie grapples with the complexities of being part of the Russo family. Things get even more complicated when she’s no longer the only wizard in the house. As Roman and Milo develop new magical powers, Justin must now train three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. The stakes rise both inside and outside the family as a mysterious new threat emerges, one that could unravel the Russos forever.

Special Guest and Returning Characters in Season 2
The original Emmy® Award-winning series notably launched Selena Gomez, who returns along with David Henrie, to executive produce and act in the show. Henrie grounded the series‘s first season with impeccable comedic timing and genuine heart. Gomez will reprise her role as Alex Russo in a guest appearance on the new season.
The second season of the series will also feature several other special guest stars, including Freya Skye from ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires as Piper, Harvey Guillén as the Gossip Stone, Kirsten Vangsness as Bigelow McFigglehorn, Recker Eans as Quentin, Tobias Jelinek as Lord Morsus, Patrick Bristow as Wiz M.D., and Eleanor Sweeney as Bella Bianchi.
This season will deliver a dose of nostalgia with the return of iconic characters from “Wizards of Waverly Place”. Including Bill Chott as Mr. Laritate and Sean Whalen as Mantooth. Amanda Tepe, known for her many memorable roles throughout the original series, also makes a special appearance in the Christmas-themed episode.

Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers, along with executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Rick Williams, Gomez, and Henrie. Todd Greenwald created “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
