At WonderCon 2026, the “It’s Alive!” panel brought together some of the most innovative minds in film and television, but few have had a year as explosive as Daniel Rojas. The Costa Rican composer and songwriter has rapidly become a go-to creator for projects that require a delicate balance of high-octane energy and deep emotional resonance.
From the neon-soaked streets of Marvel’s Hit-Monkey to the global phenomenon of K-Pop Demon Hunters, Rojas is redefining what it means to be a modern composer.
The Global Sensation: K-Pop Demon Hunters
Perhaps Rojas’ most significant achievement to date is his work on Sony’s K-Pop Demon Hunters. Debuting at number one worldwide on Netflix, the film shattered records to become the platform’s most-watched movie ever.

Scoring the “Background Character”
During his WonderCon appearance, Rojas shared his philosophy on the role of music in storytelling. He views the score as a background character, one that should provide clarity without falling into the trap of manipulation. Rojas argues that a composer must be intentional about what a scene is supposed to do, supporting the story’s truth rather than forcing the audience to feel a certain way. “Treat the audience with respect,” Rojas noted. “Know that they’re smart enough; don’t anticipate things, and just let things breathe.”
