How to put together a Langa Hasegawa cosplay from “Sk8 the Infinity”

Sk8 the Infinity is an anime that follows a second-year high school student named Reki Kyan and his love for skateboarding. Reki meets Langa Hasegawa, a transfer student, and teaches him how much fun skateboarding is. They spend some of their evenings at a secret skateboard event called “S,” in an abandoned mine, where there are no rules. Sk8 the Infinity has one season and is currently streaming on Funimation. Here, we are breaking down how to put together a cosplay or costume of Langa Hasegawa.

Langa Hasegawa

Langa is a transfer student from Canada. His mother was originally from Japan. The two move to Okinawa, Japan after the death of Langa’s father. There, he meets Reki Kyan who befriends him and shows him how much fun it is to skateboard.

First, let’s start with wig options. Langa has short, icy-blue hair that tends to hang in his face. Most wigs will need to be styled. However, it should be minimal (such as slight trimming and some hairspray) as his hair is a little more on the wild side.

If you enjoy styling wigs, then shopping for one of these on Arda Wigs or EpicCosplay Wigs websites would be great options.

Langa Cosplay Options

Langa Hasegawa has a few staples in each episode, which makes him fairly easy to cosplay. Those include skinny jeans, a button-down shirt, and high top sneakers.

This is Langa’s outfit for a majority of the show. He wears a white, long-sleeve, button down shirt. Under the button down is a black turtle-neck shirt. The turtle-neck is short sleeve, but depending on the weather where you cosplay, a long-sleeve would work as well. Blue skinny jeans and purple high-top sneakers complete this outfit. The black gloves are only worn by Langa in skateboarding scenes, so they do not make or break this cosplay. On the left side of the button down collar is an “S” pin.

Quality “S” pins can be found on Etsy. Etsy sellers Bornasin and RoxtusCosplayDesigns have wonderful options.

Here is what he wears in the first episode, “Snowfall on a Hot Night,” and on a few of the promotional posters from when the series first aired. This outfit includes a blue button down shirt and a white t-shirt underneath. Grab some black jeans and high-top sneakers, and you’re set.

Purple high-tops can be difficult to find depending on where you’re looking. However, cosplay is all about creativity, and sometimes going for 100% accuracy is not feasible. Grey or white sneakers work just as well for Langa!

Pre-made and custom cosplay websites are also good options if you would rather not piece the cosplay together. Websites such as EZCosplay and SkyCostume offer Langa Hasegawa cosplays.

Beach Episode Look

As with most anime or animated shows, the characters tend to stick with the same basic outfits. In this case, Langa has a more summer-time outfit in the episode, “Steamy Mystery Skating?!” that still represents his signature button-down and skinny jeans.

Amazon has a really close option for this shirt. If you can’t find a sleeveless button down, then you can always cut the sleeves off of any other blue button down you find.

As far as Langa’s skateboard goes, chances are good you will either need to paint the board yourself or find someone who can. However, KyryloStore on Etsy creates and sells full-length stickers that adhere to the bottom of the board itself.
