Anime Las Vegas took over the Expo at World Market Center this past weekend on April 22nd and 23rd. This was the first annual Anime Las Vegas, and this convention was full of activity that kept fans busy. The Bleach fandom, in particular, had a great time meeting the cast and fellow fanatics.
Fan Panel
On the first day of the con, Mike Fallin hosted the “Bleach Fan Panel,” with yours truly as a panelist. We discussed the series as a whole, the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia, and what makes Bleach so great. We also spoke to fans in the audience about the current “Thousand-Year Blood War Arc,” which will return to Hulu this summer with the second part of the anime.
The Bleach Panel
The second day of the con saw the cast of Bleach on the main stage. Kyle Hebert (Sosuke Aizen), David Vincent (Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez), Johnny Yong Bosch (Ichigo Kurosaki), Michelle Ruff (Rukia Kuchiki), Brian Beacock (Yumichika Ayasegawa), Dan Woren (Byakuya Kuchiki), Jamieson Price (Chad Sado), and Wally Wingert (Renji Abarai) talked about their time on the series and their excitement to be back. Though Price did not return to the series in order to allow a person of color to take the role, he remains a huge part of the Bleach family.
The cast told fans their favorite moments of the series and answered several burning questions. David Vincent, who also plays Nanami Kento in Jujutsu Kaisen, believes that Grimmjow would win in a fight because Nanami would not work overtime to finish the battle.
You can stream the original “Bleach” series on Hulu, as well as the “Thousand-Year Blood War Arc.”
