Cam Gigandet Opens Up About “The Tower” and Life After “Twilight”

In an interview with Cam Gigandet provided insights into his latest project, “The Tower,” and reflected on his career journey since his breakout role in the “Twilight” saga.

Cam Gigandet on “The Tower”

Gigandet remained tight-lipped about specific plot details, playfully teasing, “Nothing. Nothing. Perfect.” However, he shared that the it revolves around a young man who encounters a mermaid in a water tower. The narrative also explores the young man’s complex and unhealthy relationship with a cop, over whom Gigandet’s character holds some form of leverage. Gigandet hinted at his character’s “weird fetish with power and having it over people,” a trait that ultimately leads to his downfall.

Bella Thorne and Jack Kilmer will star in The Tower, a fantastical drama from filmmaker Adam Sigal. Along with Cam Gigandet and Chris Mullinax. Currently in production, the film tells the dark tale of a mysterious mermaid trapped and forgotten for years in the water tower of a small Southern town. 

Navigating Fame and Fandom

Reflecting on his experience at San Diego Comic-Con, Gigandet contrasted his current mindset with his earlier appearance promoting “Twilight.” He admitted feeling like a “fish out of water” during the “Twilight” frenzy, whereas now he approaches such events with greater appreciation and composure. He expressed his gratitude to “Twilight” fans, assuring them that his earlier comment about feeling out of place was not meant as an insult.

Fans have much to look forward to with “The Tower” promising an intriguing storyline and Gigandet’s nuanced performance.
