Twenty years after its debut, the Teen Titans animated series continues to prove that its “GO!” is far from over. This year at WonderCon, the halls were filled with a deep sense of nostalgia and enduring appreciation for a show that redefined superhero storytelling for a generation.
A Timeless Connection
Composer Kristopher Carter, one-third of the legendary Dynamic Music Partners who crafted the show’s iconic soundscape, reflected on the series’ surprising longevity. For Carter, the gratification comes from the unique intersection of two audiences: the original viewers who grew up with the team and a new wave of fans discovering the adventures through streaming platforms.
“It’s incredibly gratifying to see fans, both original viewers and those discovering it on streaming, still celebrating the work decades later,” Carter shared during an interview with Temple of Geek.
The emotional weight of this legacy was most palpable during a special screening of the film Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo, years ago at Comic Con. In a room packed with 5,000 fans, the air was electric. When the long-teased romance between Robin and Starfire finally reached its peak, the collective reaction was a testament to the show’s character-driven heart.
“The connection was most evident during the screening,” Carter noted, recalling the sea of fans reacting with collective emotion to the pivotal moments on screen.
Inside the WonderCon Experience
WonderCon remains a premier destination for the popular arts, organized by the same California nonprofit behind Comic-Con International. The event is a sprawling celebration of creativity, featuring a massive 412,000-square-foot space hosting over 900 exhibitors, offering everything from rare back-issue comics to original art.

Attendees are treated to sneak peeks of upcoming films and TV shows, professional panels, and portfolio reviews for aspiring creators. The event thrives on interaction, autograph sessions, gaming tournaments, and the high-energy annual Masquerade.
More Than Just a Convention
At its core, WonderCon serves a larger mission. By fostering public outreach and hosting world-class exhibitions, the organization ensures that the cultural impact of comics is not just remembered but continuously revitalized. As Teen Titans celebrates its twentieth anniversary, the enthusiasm at WonderCon makes one thing clear: these characters aren’t just part of animation history, they are living legends that continue to inspire.
