Crunchyroll and Funimation come together for the ultimate anime library

Crunchyroll and Funimation Global Group have become one, ultimate anime streaming service! Now, subscribers to Crunchyroll will have access to a greater library of sub and dub anime due to the merging of the two services.

Crunchyroll and Funimation Merge

For anime fans, having a substantial library of sub, dub, and films on one platform is a total win. Crunchyroll subscribers will enjoy over 40,000 sub and dub episodes. More content will be hitting the service daily over the next few weeks. All new episodes for the upcoming Spring season will only stream on Crunchyroll. Funimation will continue to add new episodes of currently running series. However, Funimation subscribers can start a new subscription with Crunchyroll in order to gain access to content from both of the services.

Colin Decker, CEO of Crunchyroll, said:

“When we brought Funimation and Crunchyroll together last year, our top priority was to put fans first. Unifying all of our brands and services under the Crunchyroll brand globally enables us to offer more value than ever before as we combine subs, dubs, simulcasts, library, music, movies, manga—all into one subscription. The new Crunchyroll is the realization of a dream, and we are grateful to the creators of anime and the millions of fans who have joined us in making the community what it is today.”

Crunchyroll continues to offer anime fans access to one of the largest collections of licensed anime. Not only that, but the service also engages the anime community with events, the annual Anime Awards, games, publishing of manga, collectibles, and more.

Also, pricing for the tiers of subscriptions has not changed. Anime fans will be able to catch their favorite series all in one place for the same prices Crunchyroll has offered prior to the merger. Crunchyroll tiers are: “Fan” for $7.99/month, “Mega Fan” for $9.99/month, and “Ultimate Fan” $14.99/month. The Crunchyroll app is available across platforms such as gaming consoles and smart phones. Anime fans can subscribe to any of these tiers on their website.
