Temple of Geek is excited to show off our exclusive Riftbound Vendetta preview card. The fourth set of Riot Games’ League of Legends trading card game, Vendetta pits some of the game’s most iconic characters against each other to recreate iconic rivalries The 133-card set introduces nine new Legends to the fold, including three enemy-aligned Domain’s for the first time. But today, we have a new Calm Domain unit to show off, Sandstone Chimera. Check out our reveal below.

Sandstone Chimera Explained
Sandstone Chimera cost seven Energy and two Calm Power, a relatively costly unit. It has also eight Might, with an effect that reads “[w]hile I’m at a battlefield, players only channel 1 rune at the start of their Channel Phase”. From a gameplay perspective, the juice is worth the squeeze, so to speak. The high cost paired with its powerful ability makes for not only a balanced card overall, but potentially a crucial piece for midrange decks. Being able to slow your opponent’s runes down by one per turn could set them off curve, devastating their gameplan.
At worst, Sandstone Chimera is an expensive body that won’t have an impact in the mid to late game. But I’m anticipating that, when paired with the right Domain or slotted into the right deck, it can be a powerful hoser that your opponents will quickly have to prioritize removing.
