Ghosts of Ruin cast and crew attended San Diego Comic-Con 2023. We spoke with Ghosts of Ruin executive producers Michael Ramey and Katie Stippec.
Ghosts of Ruin Executive Producers
Ghosts of Ruin is a new animated series from Gala Films. It takes place in a dystopian future where a new technology, Neural Reality, allows players of the Tournament of Ruin to become completely immersed in the game. However, players begin to forget the difference between reality and the game.
We asked Michael Ramey what he is the most excited to see when Ghosts of Ruin gets aired. He said:
“I’m excited to see all the ways the ways that the community was able to impact the show. I think everyone knows that we’re doing ‘death drops,’ where the…community gets to – we get them in the show, right. We animate their face into the show.”
This series is heavily community influenced. Fans can join the discord or visit the series website to get involved. Vote for lines that end up in the show, have your face animated in the show, and more!
We asked Katie Stippec how she feels about the big name actors who have signed on as voices for the series. She said:
“We are so honored. I mean, I think that there’s some shock because we all grew up loving these actors. So, we were so pleased they said yes and they agreed to do it. And…they are beasts in their industry.”
During the Hall H panel, Gala Film shared the trailer for Ghosts of Ruin for the audience.
This futuristic sci-fi animated series features lead Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), K-Pop star AleXa, Josh Keaton (Spectacular Spider-man), Karen Strassman (Sonic the Hedgehog series), and John Bentley (Alpha and Omega) and follows a group of gamers as they navigate this mind-bending world.
