Interview with Jessica Collins and Rafael Cebrián
From Lionsgate Television, “Acapulco” is inspired by 3Pas Studios and Pantelion Films’ box office hit How to Be A Latin Lover. In addition to starring, Eugenio Derbez (Older Máximo) serves as executive producer. Taking place in 1985 and in the present day, the series tells the story of twenty-something Máximo Gallardo, whose dream comes true when he scores the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco, Las Colinas. https://youtu.be/vlKBpDgEiEs
Throughout the first season of “Acapulco”, you are never really sure if you are rooting for Diane (Jessica Collins) or not. As Maximo’s boss, she holds the keys to making Máximo’s (Enrique Arrizon) dreams come true. Similar could be said about Head pool Boy Hector (Rafael Cebrián) who is not too helpful when Máximo first encounters him. The second season takes a deeper look into who Diane and Hector are as individuals.
“Acapulco” Season Two
In 1985, Máximo must contend with upheaval at the resort, unexpected problems at home, and a new love interest who just might rival the girl of his dreams. Under Don Pablo’s guidance, he sets his eyes on one day running the entire Las Colinas operation by becoming Diane’s right-hand man. Meanwhile, in the present day, Older Máximo returns to Acapulco to make peace with the recent passing of Don Pablo, where he is forced to confront some unfinished business young Máximo left behind.
Eugenio Derbez (“Older Máximo”) leads an international cast in the ten-episode second season, alongside returning stars Enrique Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, and Chord Overstreet.
Season one of “Acapulco” is now streaming on Apple TV+.
