A trailer for the next film in the Joaquin Phoenix Joker franchise was revealed at CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The film is titled JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX. It stars Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix (Joker – 2019, Gladiator) and Lady Gaga (House of Gucci, A Star is Born), JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX hits theaters on October 4, 2024. “Folie à deux” is a phrase that describes two people sharing in a delusion or mental illness. In this trailer, it appears that both the Joker and Harley Quinn are doing just that. While it looks like the two of them are dancing together on a beautiful stage, the scene quickly changes to the city burning around them.
This take on Harley Quinn is different than what we have seen before. Lady Gaga is seen applying makeup in multiple parts of this trailed. From the looks of it, Harley’s makeup matches the Joker’s. Rather than her iconic pink and blue or red and black, we see her applying messy lipstick and dark lines over her eyes, similar to the Joker.
Harley wants to see the real Joker, outside of Arkham Asylum. This looks like it will be an important theme in this film. Each of them have their own mental illnesses, yet they come together in one shared delusion as they terrorize Gotham.
