The concept for this comic hits close to home. In California, we recently saw a bit of wild weather and are dealing with the looming threat of climate change. We also seem to have a political landscape that favors big business over ordinary people. Just recently in San Bernardino, California, there is a measure happening that allows county officials to initiate the process of seceding from the state. So it’s easy to imagine a post-apocalyptic California that runs more like a corporation than a nation.
The team behind the comic has been working in the entertainment industry for a while. Author Arthur N. Ebuen started as an animator for Futurama and The Simpsons. Illustrator Dave Law has been actively sharing a lot of his work from the comic on his Instagram page @itsdavelaw. Law is the artist and co-creator of the ongoing sci-fi space opera, The Space Odditorium.
