SDCC 2026: Why Meow Wolf and Titmouse are the Animated Powerhouse Duo We Needed

As Meow Wolf prepares to land in Southern California, additional details regarding the Los Angeles exhibition will be rolled out over the coming months. If this San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) preview was any indication, fans of high-concept animation and surreal physical art have plenty of mind-bending worlds to look forward to.

Meow Wolf, the punk-born arts company known for transforming warehouses into wormholes, and Titmouse, the Emmy-winning renegade animation studio behind Big Mouth, The Venture Bros., and Beavis and Butt-Head, recently announced a new multi-year creative partnership. The collaboration spans animation, immersive storytelling, and the development of an original series. This project marks the first large-scale collaboration between the two companies. And lays the foundation for future creative projects together over the coming years.

Fans who attended the San Diego Comic-Con panel yesterday got an early look at the collaboration. During the panel “Weirder Together: Meow Wolf + Titmouse,” they shared their common approach to worldbuilding driven by visual ambition. Their shared goal is creating immersive, emotionally resonant experiences that extend beyond traditional entertainment formats.

SDCC 2026 Preview: “Weirder Together: Meow Wolf + Titmouse”

Meow Wolf and Titmouse are the collaboration we didn’t know we needed. And nothing has ever made more sense than these two powerhouses combining forces.  During the panel, we saw a punk rock rat with a green Mohawk and the Titmouse bird get married. That is a sentence I never thought I’d say. But both Meow Wolf and Titmouse have that kind of effect on you.

Both companies excel at delivering strange art, and there is something so incredibly addicting about it. I went to OmegaMart and immediately needed more. Every show that is animated by Titmouse that I have seen, I have loved, and the weirder they are, the more I cherish them

Learning about how Meow Wolf takes inspiration not only from the cities they bring their exhibits to. But also from the history of the buildings they use when creating the story they want to tell through their exhibition was very interesting. For the Los Angeles location, the building was formerly a Cinemark, and that is a part of the theme they are going with. Personally, as a former movie theater employee, the concept excites me. I have always wanted to climb into a popper, and I feel like they will definitely deliver that to me, if not something close enough! The concepts of the sentient candy that they presented were amazing – Dante’s Hotties is a personal favorite from what we were shown, and i will absolutely be buying a bag.

Titmouse created their version of the iconic “Let’s all go to the lobby” animation, and made it wonderfully weird to perfectly fit Meow Wolf’s style.  They showed us a “Space Bike” which looks as cool as it sounds, and the animation Titmouse made for it was fantastic. It will be featured in the exhibit and, yes, you will be able to get on it.

Former movie theater employee me is officially LOSING IT over the upcoming Meow Wolf and Titmouse LA Exhibition. They’re leaning into the location’s history as a Cinemark, and the concept art is unreal. Sentient candy (already obsessed with Dante’s Hotties). A surreal “Let’s All Go to the Lobby” animation by Titmouse Animation. My lifelong dream of climbing into a massive popcorn popper might actually come true?! Meow Wolf taking movie nostalgia and making it gloriously weird is everything I needed today. 📹 @Gabby #sandiegocomiccon #sdcc2026 #meowwolf #titmouse

Future Announcements

They have teased that there will be some sort of shared universe and perhaps an animated movie or series that Titmouse is working on that we will learn more about when we go through the exhibit. They shared a single still and refused to speak any more of it. I am sold. The partnership includes the co-development of original animated series projects based on Meow Wolf’s expansive story universe. Both Titmouse and Meow Wolf will serve as Executive Producers. Titmouse will also consult on the exhibition’s visual and narrative design. As someone who enjoys media that feels like a fever dream, I know that Meow Wolf and Titmouse are going to deliver an absolutely unforgettable experience.
