MagicCon Las Vegas: The Preview Panel New Card Gallery

During the preview panel during MagicCon in Las Vegas, we got our closest look yet some of 2026’s upcoming Magic releases. Wizards of the Coast peeled the curtain back on the Marvel Super Heroes, Hobbit, and Reality Fracture expansions. Word is still mum on the Star Trek set, however. We saw new cards and alternate art treatments, as well as some of the physical products fans can purchase when the sets launch. Check out the fully gallery or cards revealed below.

First look at the Hobbit

After the success of the Universes Beyond set The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth, we once again return to J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic fantasy world. This time, we get have a look at how world of The Hobbit is translated for Magic. There plenty of references and callbacks to even the most minute of details from the books. Characters like Bilbo Baggins, his company of dwarves, and the dragon Smaug are all receiving multiple cards in the main set. The Hobbit releases August 14. Notably, The Hobbit is one of the few Magic sets that does not offer one or more preconstruced Commander decks.

Reality Fracture Is a “What If?” Original Magic Story.

The final in-universe Magic: The Gathering set of 2026 is Reality Fracture. This expansion is a sort of “What If?” style story that puts Jace in a villainous role. After dealing with the constant crises plaguing the Multiverse, the Mind Mage creates the Echoverse as a way to start over. We’ll get to see inverse versions of longtime favorite characters, like the fire mage Chandra now a cryomancer, as well as different versions of popular planes like Strixhaven’s Arcavios. You can pick up Reality Fracture cards starting October 2.

Marvel Super Heroes

Capping off the preview panel was a closer look at Marvel Super Hero cards, coming June 26. Marvel Cinematic Universe Vision actor Paul Bettany took the stage to showcase the second Infinity Stone card, The Mind Stone, as well as its alternate art treatment. Compared to last year’s Spider-Man set, Marvel Super Heroes includes all of the Earth’s Mightiest heroes in a massive set that features both iconic heroes and villains from the comics. With the second Infinity Stone getting the Magic treatment, fans are left wondering if there are enough Marvel sets in the future to justify printing one per set until all have been made.

The preview panel did not touch on details for the final set for the year Star Trek.
